A Stockyards Saturday

We spent yesterday afternoon in the Stockyards.  We had a great time.  We went to Riscky's BBQ and just walked around.  There was this little petting zoo set-up and Celia got to feed the goats.  She loved the "animals" and was so sad when we had to leave them.

Future Musician

Celia loves playing the piano and guitar with daddy. Or "nano" and "tar" as she says. Here she was on Saturday morning showing us her stuff. I couldn't even get to her to put pants on, the need to play was calling her so strongly.

Celia saying "cheese":

Breakfast & The Zoo

Last weekend Aunt Whitney and Momma took Celia out for breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then to the Fort Worth Zoo.  Celia can finally say "Whitney!"  She loved the monkeys and the meercats most of all.  I didn't get any pictures of her with the animals, but I tried to get a picture of the two of us and out of about 10 this is as good as they got.

Go Pack Go!

John and I were one of the lucky 103,219 people to attend the Super Bowl this year!  And even luckier, we were not one of the 400 that did not have a seat!  We had a great time.  We attended a luncheon before the game and got to meet other NFL players.  We had lunch with Justin Forsett, a Running Back for the Seattle Seahawks.  The game was fun.  I loved the half time show with Black Eyed Peas, John thought is was only ok.  And of course, we were so excited when the Packers took home the Lombardi trophy.

Snow Day (Actually, Snow Week)

We got snowed and iced in at our house for almost an entire week.  It was at the beginning of February and it shut down the entire DFW metroplex.  Usually we would have been celebrating time off from work, school, etc, but unfortunately it happened Super Bowl week, which ended up giving the metroplex a lot of bad press, lost revenue, etc.  But at the Loyd house we had a lot of fun.  Celia loved the snow and time with momma and daddy, but our house was a mess!!

Also, I didn't have any waterproof gloves for Celia so she had to wear Daddy's gloves!

Our Little Ham

So I've always had trouble getting pictures of Celia at the right moment when she's smiling.  She always looks aways when she sees the camera come up.  And the flash on these little point and shoot cameras takes FOREVER to go off and take the picture.  I really need a nicer camera that I can control better.  But I've also realized that now Celia is getting older she likes to ham it up a little more.  When you say "Say cheese" she will.  And she starts to giggle.  So the other day when we were having snack I got a few cute pictures of her.

Super Bowl Fever

This week the Super Bowl is coming to DFW.  This weekend (while the weather was still nice) we headed to Fort Worth to check out Sundance Square as ESPN was setting up and the Omni Hotel where the Steelers are staying.  It's too bad that the ice has hit because it looked like there was going to be a lot of fun and activity.

Daddy Daughter Day

Daddy took Celia to the Dallas Children's Museum a few weeks ago.  Apparently they had a blast.  And apparently Celia loved this dinosaur and sat talking to him for some time and could have talked to him for pretty much all day if John would have let her.  She's a talker these days.  She talks to herself and if you talk to her, she'll say most anything back to you (one word at a time).

I've got raspberries growing from my fingers!
